The Clearwater Neighborhoods Coalition is supporting the efforts of the Skycrest Neighbors Association regarding Crest Lake Park. In the aftermath of the tragic murder of Jason Paul the Skycrest Neighborhood Association has responded. At the most recent neighborhood meeting it was made clear that the people in this community morn this event and desire that the park is a safe place for the residents and visitors of Clearwater to enjoy. The concerns were heard by the city and the reality that it would be the community that would lead the way to a safer more accessible park was made clear. The residents of this community have committed to 30 Days in the Park. They will begin these events with a candlelight memorial for Jason Paul. We must first morn the past before we can build a future. Please join with us on the 23rd as we respect the life of a child lost. Jason loved the park and visited it often with is dog Marley. We will begin at the dog park; there will be lighted luminaries and candles. We will process to the pier and will have a brief memorial and candle vigil in that location. This will be a very healing and spiritual endeavor for us all. The next few events of 30 Days in the park will be Family Board Game Night, Chalk Art, Drum Circle, and Doggie Date Night. Please look for the dates and times of these events coming soon and plan to come to your beautiful park and meet your neighbors.
