This is a proposed amendment to Florida's Constitution that would consider situations where homestead property decreased in market value but increased in assessed value due to requirements by law. The amendment also limits the annual changes of assessment amounts for non-homestead property from 10% to 5%. It also provides for an additional homestead exemption amount to new homebuyers that is phased out over, the lesser amount of, 5 years or when the property is sold.
